About Us


Subversive Malting + Brewing began by asking a simple question: can we make truly exceptional beer rooted in the agriculture of the Hudson Valley and New York State?

We looked around us, and realized that the work to make this dream possible had begun just a couple of years before, spearheaded by a small collective of farmers, maltsters, and brewers intent on re-localizing the beer supply chain.

By keeping all of our malt production in-house, we are able to focus on optimal quality from field-to-pint, and we are able to have direct relationships with the farmers who grow our grain.

We cherish our connections with local producers that are as passionate as we are, and we find focus and direction in the sourcing limitations we have set for ourselves.
